Capturing the Moment

On Sunday, Tim and I (and Boston) met with a photographer for some maternity photos. With this being my first pregnancy and the last time Tim and I will be "just the two of us", I felt it would be well worth capturing this time in our lives. We are so very much in love and we are so excited to love on our "little us" when he arrives. I will admit that baby boy has gotten heavier (my belly has gotten bigger) and so some of the photos were a little uncomfortable to take, but it was truly worth it. We think that Ashly did a fantastic job picking out just the right spots on the Shreveport riverfront. We are thankful for so many things and with only 3 1/2 weeks left until Boston's due date, we are counting our blessings as we await our little sweetie's arrival.

6 Months Maternity Photos

My sweet sister Sarah took some fantastic photos of us when I was just 6 months pregnant. I have to admit that I had to force my tummy to poke out a little more to help with the "maternity" effect-- Ha ha! She wanted to capture some before she moved up to Boston. We are so grateful for her talent and look forward to introducing baby Boston to his Aunt Sarah. See the photos here.

ONE MONTH TO GO!

I can't believe it is now August 18th and baby Boston is due September 18th! I say this often, but the time has really gone by so fast. I have really enjoyed this whole pregnancy experience. I have been blessed to feel well the majority of the way. I have even managed to work out at 5:30am at least 2 days a week for the entire time...even now! However, now that it is the end of August it is so HOT outside and me and Boston have gotten bigger/heavier. I still have indigestion/heartburn, which means my baby boy has not dropped yet. It is sometimes uncomfortable to walk, especially after sitting down for a while. Needless to say, I am anxiously awaiting when Boston will decide to join this world. Tim has been so helpful and patient with me. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing husband and I can't wait to see him in action as a daddy. Without him, it would be much more of a challenge. We have made it this far and of course we want him to stay in his womb suite for as long as he would like, but we are ready to meet him. :)

On another note, the nursery is pretty much done! We have a few more items to purchase to make sure we are prepared for his first few days at home and the bassinet needs to be set up, but we are really happy with the way it has turned out. I will post more pics later, but here is a sneak peak:

We will complete the last of 3 Child Birth Preparation Classes tomorrow night, we have a hospital tour and pre-registration this weekend, and a Newborn Care class next week. It is getting close and we are so excited! I told Tim that I feel like someone is holding a wrapped present in front of me and I cannot open it. We can't wait to see and meet our little bundle of love!

34 weeks and counting!

This week I had my 33 week doctor's appointment. I had a sonogram to see how big baby Boston has gotten. Much to my suprise, he is 5 lbs. 1 oz.! I cannot believe that I am carrying a baby that weighs that much! The doctor said he is in the 50% percentile for his weight, which means he is average. Tim and I are thrilled to know he is doing well and is a healthy boy. The doctor also said that if he wants to come after 34 weeks, she's not going to stop him. She says at this point he is developed enough to do well if he is born. That is crazy! Tim and I could be parents anytime! However, we welcome him to stay for 6 more weeks. :)

Here he is! I can't wait to kiss those little chubby cheeks and love on him!
